Celebrate Mother's Day at Ala Moana Hotel with Ho'okena Concert and Brunch

A phenomenal lineup of Hawai'i's top performers will help Ala Moana Hotel celebrate mothers everywhere during "A Mother's Love," the hotel's annual concert and brunch on Sunday, May 14, 2017. Ho'okena, Kalani Pe'a, Ben & Maila, Blayne Asing, and Josh Tatofi will play for mom at the special event in the Hibiscus Ballroom at the Ala Moana Hotel. Tickets for this popular celebration of food, music and mom are $75 for adults and $40.50 for children ages 4-11 years-old.
"We're looking forward to rightfully celebrating Mother's Day with fantastic food, great music and even better company," said Candace Fujioka, director of catering, Ala Moana Hotel. "Moms deserve the best - whether you choose to treat her to a weekend away at Ala Moana Hotel or join us for the concert and brunch, you can plan on making this Mother's Day one she won't forget."
Guests can look forward to a mouth-watering selection of steaming-hot entrees, including carving boards and breads with inamona salt and rosemary seasoned prime rib of beef with shiitake mushroom jus, bone-in pork roast with mango-jalapeno chutney and roasted garlic jus, an assortment of taro rolls, buns and sesame lavosh, mini bagels and cream cheese, and freshly baked croissants, muffins and Danishes.
Event guests will also have chilled selection options like fried chicken and pickled mango salad; seasonal tropical fruits with toasted coconut flakes; kiawe smoked salmon and potato salad; spicy crab, broccoli and cauliflower salad; and grilled local vegetable caprese with balsamic reduction and Thai basil.
Assorted shellfish and Okinawan sweet potatoes in a coconut curry broth; hibachi grilled chicken with lomi tomato relish; Hawaiian sweet bread French toast with pineapple and caramel; glazed pork belly "Tocino" with soft boiled eggs, tomatoes and onions; scrambled eggs with fresh spinach and mushrooms; and Portuguese sausage will be served up in the main course. Side dishes will include five-spice roast duck noodles and edamame pot stickers, a medley of roasted vegetables and green beans, and steamed white rice. Finally, guests will want to save room for strawberry-guava shortcake, warm apple mango cobbler, banana pudding, and an assortment of specialty cakes, pies and sweets.
