Ala Moana Hotel Launches Annual "Food For Breakfast" Campaign

Ala Moana Hotel is giving out free breakfast, buffet-style, in an effort to fight hunger in Hawaii. From March 1 through April 7, 2017, registered hotel guests who donate six cans or five pounds of food will receive a coupon to enjoy a local-style breakfast at the hotel's breakfast restaurant, Plantation Café. All donations benefit the Hawaii Foodbank.

"Ala Moana Hotel is excited to bring guest awareness to this important local cause," said Marty Milan, director of sales and marketing for Ala Moana Hotel. "We are proud to have supported Hawaii Foodbank for 30 years and we look forward to using this delicious free breakfast as a way to say 'mahalo' to our wonderful guests who join us in eradicating hunger in the islands."

The "Food For Breakfast" campaign is open to all registered guests from March 1 to April 7, 2017. Upon receipt of the foodstuffs, guests will receive one coupon per room for a free breakfast at Plantation Café. Guests may bring food on multiple days. Food must be in the form of cans or unopened non-perishable bags, such as rice.

"Hawaii Foodbank is deeply appreciative of businesses like Ala Moana Hotel, who are dedicated to affecting real change in Hawaii," said Gerald Shintaku, president and CEO of Hawaii Foodbank. "One in five residents receives food from the Foodbank network of member agencies, including more than 46,000 kupuna. It is vital that we partner with businesses like Ala Moana Hotel who share our vision in eliminating hunger across Hawaii."
