Pho Bistro 2

Growing up, I was not a fan of Vietnamese food. When I was young, I tried a bowl of pho and did not like the flavor (Mint leaves? Yuck!) or pho noodles at all, and that's when I made up my mind that Vietnamese food was just not for me.

Then the Pig and the Lady came along, and opened my eyes, and palate, to what good Vietnamese food should taste like, and now I'm hooked.

A few weeks ago, my friend Brandon and I were talking about Vietnamese restaurants, and he told me that Pho Bistro 2 makes the best spring rolls.  So we scheduled a date to meet for lunch so that I could try them.

I must say, these were one of the better spring rolls I've had.  They were very crispy on the outside, and packed with pork and veggies on the inside. After the first bite I regretted not ordering a plate just for myself.

For my main course, I ordered the #20 - Vermicelli with shrimp and bbq pork ($11.45).

Brandon ordered the Pho Tai (Pho with rare steak; $8.95).

I was amazed at how quickly our main entrees emerged from the kitchen.  Everything tasted good and portions were generous.

Quick and friendly service, great-tasting food, and reasonable prices makes this a great place for a work-day lunch.

Free parking is available behind the building off of Fern Street.
