Magnolia Bakery Introduces the Aloha Cupcake

Starting this Aloha Friday, you can get Magnolia Bakery's first Hawaii exclusive bakery item, the Aloha Cupcake - a lilikoi cupcake with haupia filling and topped with a meringue frosting of rainbow colors in the signature Magnolia Bakery swirl!  The Aloha Cupcake was created by Executive Chef Jonas Low who proudly sees it as his thumbprint in Magnolia Bakery's history.

I got a sneak peek yesterday when I attended the launch party for the Aloha Cupcake and even tried my hand at icing cupcakes from the pros.  According to the bakery, the signature swirl takes about 40 hours to perfect!

In addition to the exclusive cupcake, Magnolia Bakery is introducing three Afternoon Tea menus as well as new mocktails.  On the drink menu they offer wines by the glass, beer, and mimosas.  I love the idea of stopping into the cafe for a little dessert and wine pairing.

Currently, Magnolia Bakery holds private icing classes, but will soon have offerings to the public.  They also are excited for upcoming cake icing and baking technique classes that would be perfect for a corporate event, girls day out, or a child's birthday party.  In the meantime, check out this video for a quick demo of the rainbow frosting!

The Aloha Cupcake will only be available at Magnolia Bakery Cafe and Kiosk at Ala Moana Center.

Here's my try.  Only 39 hours and 45 minutes left to login.

Assorted tea time desserts.  How cute is the banana pudding "shot"??
