Impaired driving is one of the deadliest,
most-often-committed crimes in our state. Nearly half of all traffic
fatalities in Hawaii involve drunk drivers, with a high number of
incidents seen during holiday periods. Fortunately, it is 100 percent
preventable.
To increase the awareness of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over
campaign, the Hawaii Department of Transportation together with the
U.S. Bartenders’ Guild – Hawaii chapter and DTRIC Insurance have created
a mocktail (non-alcoholic mock cocktail) recipe booklet to encourage
the public to be responsible drivers – especially during the upcoming
holiday season. This free booklet is composed of recipes specially
created by some of Hawaii’s top mixologists and will be distributed at
the below events, or can be downloaded at www.hawaiishsp.com.
· Saturday, December 19th at Honolulu Night Market
Joey
Gottesman’s mocktail drink in the booklet will be served at Ten Eleven
Bar at Makers & Tasters through the month of December.
