Sumo Ramen & Curry-Kapolei

After shopping at Target in Kapolei one day, we decided to pick up lunch from Sumo Ramen & Curry.

DH got the Mochiko Chicken Curry Combo.

He said everything was really good.

I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice.

It was really good, despite the curry being pretty spicy. It could just be the pregnancy-related heartburn that made it seem really spicy, but I will definitely try it again (but not until after I give birth!).

I also got a side order of Croquette.

YUMMY!

Overall the food was great and the prices were reasonable, and I'm sure we'll be picking up food from there again in the future!

Restaurant Kuni & Lounge

Not too long ago we went to Restaurant Kuni & Lounge, a favorite restaurant that I've been going to ever since I was a little kid.

DH & I both ordered Two Dish Teishokus, which came with Tsukemono, Moyashi, Miso Soup, and a Salad.

I only ate the salad (Kuni's special dressing is really tasty) and the soup.

The two items I ordered were Chicken Teri...

and Chicken Katsu.

Both were really good!

DH also ordered the Chicken Katsu, along with the Miso Mahi (which I forgot to take a picture of).

DS2 had the Keiki Chicken Katsu (DS2 was in school), which included a drink, Macaroni Salad, and French Fries.

Before DS2's meal came, the owner asked if he wanted some tofu. I thought that was really nice of him.

We also ended up getting dessert-RB's Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Dessert.
It was okay.

The food is always good at Kuni's and the owner, Kuni, is often going around talking to customers and showing them his special magic trick with a cup of water.

I can't wait to go back!

Aloha General Store

After spending the morning in Haleiwa, on the way home we decided to stop at the Aloha General Store for some Shave Ice since there was a coupon in the Entertainment Book for Buy 1 Get 1 Free.

I ordered two, both with ice cream, so our family of 4 could share.

The boys shared the Strawberry.

I got Root Beer.
The Shave Ice costs $2.75, and the vanilla ice cream cost an extra $1.00. Unlike a few other places, Aloha General Store doesn't charge extra for the large plastic holder.

It was a refreshing and delicious way to end our visit to Haleiwa!
